Features
Size Range: DN350 – DN3000 (Built to order)
Types Available: Single-End / Double-End / Limited Movement Types / Flanged / Weld End
The PIPEMATE Slip Type Expansion Joint is highly compact and easy to install.
Used for absorbing changes in pipe length due to concentrated pipe movement in a given area of pipe.
It is suited for applications where expansion and contraction is frequent, or where there is a large axial movement.
The joints consist of a slip pipe that telescopes within a body to accommodate the changes in the length of a pipe.
The body has a gland packing chamber that contains square sections of NBR rubber for sealing alternated with identically sized sections of lubricant braided packing impregnated with PTFE for lubrication.
The depth of the gland packing chamber, size, and quantity of the packing are carefully designed to provide tightness of the joint and allow for future tightening and adjustment of the packing before addition or when repacking becomes necessary.
Advantages:
Simple & compact in design
Accommodates large amount of axial movement
Relief of stress buildup in the pipeline
Ample packing adjustment and superior sealing
Requires minimum maintenance and is almost maintenance-free
Our design allows replacement of the gland packing without removing the Expansion Joint from the pipeline
Limited Movement Type (Optimal Limit Rods):
1. Limits the travel of the slip pipe, preventing the slip pipe from moving out of the Expansion Joint beyond a predetermined point.
2. When two or more Expansion Joints are installed in a section of pipe between two anchors, the limit rods will activate the adjacent Expansion Joint when one joint has reached the full limit of its travel.
3. The position of the limit adjusting nuts and limit ring indicate the position of the slip pipe within the body, showing where it is in the expansion/contraction cycle.
